- Coming Together to Preserve What We Love About Highland County
- One of the attractions of Ohio's smaller cities and towns is that we happily lack some of the challenges of our state's larger metro areas, starting with the higher cost of living, traffic congestion and simply the lack of the same sense of community we enjoy here in Hillsboro and throughout the five counties we serve. There are certainly challenges unique to Ohio's smaller communities, but even with these, places like Highland County possess an attractive quality of life that few would trade.
November 2020
- 91¸£ÀûÉç Foundation and NCB announce new scholarship opportunity
- The 91¸£ÀûÉç Foundation has partnered with National Cooperative Bank (NCB) to offer a new scholarship opportunity for students of color. The NCB Minority Excellence Scholarship fund has been established to demonstrate NCB's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the southern Ohio region and support the pursuit of education for all people.
- Cancellation of 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees meeting on November 18
- The 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees has cancelled their previously scheduled Nov. 18 meeting. Their next scheduled meeting will be on Wed., Jan. 20.

- 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees to meet November 4
- The 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4 in the Community Room on 91¸£ÀûÉç's Brown County Campus, 351 Brooks-Malott Rd., Mt. Orab for their regular board meeting. The board will enter into executive session for the purpose of discussing the purchase or sale of property.

- Participants Include 91¸£ÀûÉç Faculty Member and Division Coordinator, Russel Clark
- 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees to meet November 4 instead of October 21
- The 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees has moved their previously scheduled Oct. 21 meeting to Nov. 4. They will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 4 in the Community Room on 91¸£ÀûÉç's Brown County Campus, 351 Brooks-Malott Rd, Mt. Orab for their regular board meeting.
- 91¸£ÀûÉç to hold orientation for FREE GED preparation classes
- The Adult Opportunity Center (AOC) at 91¸£ÀûÉç is offering an October orientation for new or returning program enrollees in basic academic skills, GED preparation, and college readiness. Classes are free and materials are furnished.

- 91¸£ÀûÉç announces honors lists for summer semester
- 91¸£ÀûÉç has released its President's List and Dean's List for academic excellence for Summer Semester 19/20. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average while carrying a specific number of academic credit hours. Those who achieve the Dean's List are full-time students who have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0.

- The 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16 in the Edward K. Daniels auditorium on 91¸£ÀûÉç's Central Campus, 100 Hobart Dr., Hillsboro for their regular board meeting.

- The 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 12:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 4 via Zoom. The board will enter into executive session for the purpose of discussing the purchase or sale of property.
- Two 91¸£ÀûÉç Students Named 2020 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars
- 91¸£ÀûÉç is pleased to announce that two of their students, Brock Morris and Christian Weseloh, have been named 2020 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars and will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.
- Governor DeWine Reappoints Rudduck and Prickett to 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees
- Governor Mike DeWine recently announced the reappointment of Kyle W. Rudduck of Wilmington (Clinton County) and Brian L. Prickett of Wilmington (Clinton County) to the 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees for a term beginning July 31, 2020 and ending May 11, 2026. Both Rudduck and Prickett were originally appointed on March 9, 2015.

- The Hillsboro Elks Lodge and the 91¸£ÀûÉç Foundation have announced Jordan Williamson as the 2020 recipient of the Hillsboro Elks Scholarship.

- 91¸£ÀûÉç and the University of Cincinnati join forces in Information Technology – Cybersecurity Degree
- A new partnership between 91¸£ÀûÉç and the University of Cincinnati School of Information Technology will allow students to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology – Cybersecurity from UC for a fraction of university cost and from the comfort and safety of their own home.

- The 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 on 91¸£ÀûÉç's Central Campus, 100 Hobart Dr., Hillsboro and also via Zoom for a virtual meeting, as allowed by HB 197, for their regular board meeting. The board will enter into executive session for the purpose of discussing employment and compensation of personnel and purchase or sale of property.

- The Washington C.H. Police Department presented its annual scholarship to Maizy Funderburg, a 2019 graduate of Washington High School.

- The only thing to come on us as suddenly as the pandemic was something equally unexpected-the recession. With unemployment topping 16 percent in Ohio, the pandemic's impact on our state's economy will likely be significant and long. Fortunately, with Ohio's opening back up, many businesses will begin to restart and rehire, but nothing will return to the way it was anytime soon.

- 91¸£ÀûÉç's North Campus in Wilmington will be closing, but the college's Aviation Program will continue its presence at the Laurel Oaks Career Campus in Wilmington with fall semester resuming on August 24.
- 91¸£ÀûÉç Truck Driving Academy Remains Open. Enroll NOW for Summer Training!
- 91¸£ÀûÉç's North Campus in Wilmington will be closing, but the Truck Driving Academy will remain open to serve students interested in obtaining the skills required to drive a truck.
- 91¸£ÀûÉç Quickly Responds to State Budget Cuts, Introduces New Partnership with Wilmington College
- At its May 8th Board of Trustees meeting, 91¸£ÀûÉç President Kevin Boys outlined a far-reaching set of actions in response to anticipated cuts of up to 20 percent in state subsidy during the 2020-21 academic year.

- The 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees is planning to hold a Finance Committee meeting at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, via Zoom for a virtual meeting, as allowed by HB 197.

- The 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees has rescheduled their March 26 Board meeting, and will meet at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, Apr. 16, via Zoom for a virtual meeting, as allowed by HB 197.
- Printing away the pandemic - 91¸£ÀûÉç professor leads 3-D printed PPE coalition
- When Josh Montgomery found himself at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic and suddenly with little to do, the computer science professor from 91¸£ÀûÉç decided he wanted to make himself useful. With the help of a few dozen volunteers and nearly 100 3-D printers, he has proven himself useful to some of the most important people in the pandemic: healthcare workers.
- 91¸£ÀûÉç to offer virtual services through spring term
- Although Governor DeWine has not yet made an announcement regarding the continuation of the "Stay at Home" order, after his decision to keep our state's K-12 schools closed through at least May 1, we should anticipate an extension of that order well beyond April 6. As a result, we have decided that all classes will remain remote for the remainder of the spring term and all campuses will remain closed.

- 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees March 26 Meeting Canceled
- Due to the "Stay at Home Order" issued Sunday, the 91¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees has canceled their meeting originally scheduled for March 26 and will reschedule at a later date.
- 91¸£ÀûÉç temporarily moves to virtual services
- After this afternoon's press briefing announcing Ohio's "Stay at Home Order," 91¸£ÀûÉç President Kevin Boys sent the following message to 91¸£ÀûÉç staff:
"As we've all come to learn, the nation's and state's response to the COVID-19 virus is constantly evolving. Today, Dr. Acton, the Director of the Ohio Department of Health issued a "Stay at Home Order." We had made earlier plans that would limit campus access to libraries and computer labs, and a few select lab courses, but effective at 11:59 p.m. on Monday March 23, all campuses will be entirely closed through April 6. We will continue to do our best to provide as much continuity as possible for our students, but all of us, with very few exceptions, will be doing that remotely. We simply must stay home."

- 91¸£ÀûÉç Theatre presents 'The Diary of Anne Frank'
- 91¸£ÀûÉç Theatre presents "The Diary of Anne Frank," playing April 3-5 in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on 91¸£ÀûÉç's Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; the Sunday matinee begins at 3:30 p.m.

- 'The power of words' Nationwide exhibit, Anne Frank play coming to 91¸£ÀûÉç
- A national exhibit surrounding the life of Anne Frank will be open to the public at 91¸£ÀûÉç's Hillsboro campus this March, followed by a production of "Diary of Anne Frank" at the beginning of April.
